The Hardcastle Repair Process

The Hardcastle repair process is guided by one goal in mind, customer satisfaction. Each and every collision repair job will undergo these steps to ensure a quality repair.

1 - Get a Free Repair Estimate
In the estimation process, the damaged area of the vehicle is inspected thoroughly. The information is then compiled into a computerized estimation system which determines the cost of repair.
2 - Rental Car Assistance
If your damaged vehicle is your main source of transportation, we understand that an alternate is a must. Hardcastle can arrange for a rental at the most competitive rates available and all considerations will be taken to make sure you don't miss a beat.

3 - We Obtain Insurance Approval
When an insurance carrier is involved in the repair and a claim payment will be processed, the staff at Hardcastle will work directly with you and the carrier to reach an agreed repair price that will be competitive and without quality trade-offs. What to do after a car accident.

4 - Vehicle Disassembly
Full disassembly may reveal internal damage not visible in the preliminary evaluation. Any additions at this time will be fully explained and supplementary cost estimates may be assessed. If an insurance company is accepting responsiblility for your claim, they will be notified and be given the opportunity to re-inspect your vehicle and approve additional repairs.

5 - Ordering Replacement Parts
The required parts for your vehicle are ordered and availability is checked. If a part needs to be special ordered, the order will be placed as soon as possible. Although many parts may arrive very quickly, the repair process can not begin until the shop receives all of the structural parts.

6 - Structure Repair
In the structure repair area, the unitized body is returned back to factory specifications. A measuring system is used to monitor all phases in this stage. Your vehicle is inspected for proper structural and four-wheel alignment.
7 - Body Repair
The body repair department replaces exterior panels and all metal finishing that may be required. The vehicle begins to come back to life as sheet metal is installed and aligned. From here the vehicle will go through paint preparations.

8 - Computerized Paint Color Matching
Our refinish technicians are trained in the fine are of color matching. With assistance from the computerized Dupont color system, color match is now achieved through the blending of art with with computer science. The Hardcastle repair system provides for a flawless color match over a quality structural repair foundation achieving a virtually undectable repair. 9 - Painting
Paint preparation is critical in the refinishing process of every vehicle. All panels are prepared for paint then primed and sealed to assure proper adhesion when the final top color and clear coats of paint are applied. Please view the paint process in our Before & After page.

10 - Reassembly
Final moldings and detail pieces are put back on the vehicle in the reassembly area. All the vehicle's systems are checked during this process. The vehicle is near completion and ready for delivery when it is in this stage.

11 - Complimentary Express Wash & Detailing
Our technicians will do everything possible to keep your vehicle clean and safe during the repair process. Before pick up, each and every repair job receives an Express Wash: professional cleaning, exterior and interior, by our sister company AJ Auto Detail. (Click here for more on AJ Auto Detailing.) The car will be road tested to ensure that all systems are working properly. A final inspection will assure that the vehicle is restored to it's pre-accident condition.

12 - Ready for Pick Up
When you arrive to pick up the vehicle, the bill is explained and the final paper work is completed.
